Richard Bown spent thirty years inside corporate software engineering — long enough to witness the dot-com bubble, the cloud revolution, big data, and now the current AI frenzy. Each cycle promised to change everything. Each cycle left a trail of humans trying to make sense of the wreckage.
Human Software, his debut novel, grew out of that experience — and out of frustration with the thousand business books that kept repackaging the same ideas without ever telling the truth about what it actually feels like to be inside these systems.
Originally from the UK, he lives with his family near Amsterdam. He writes, blogs, and occasionally shouts into the void on LinkedIn and Bluesky.
