Richard W Bown`

Richard W. Bown is a writer and software engineer who loves to explore life, work and the stories that every day brings. As an engineer and engineering leader, he’s worked in corporate environments throughout his thirty-year career, taking regular breaks to write, record music, develop open-source software and software products. He’s not only contributed heavily to the technical community but also to the canon of socio-technical literature through case studies for the second edition of Team Topologies and speaking at conferences on the subject of being a human working in technology.

Human Software is his debut novel. It grew out of what it actually feels like to work inside the corporate systems, a growing disquiet about data centres and AI and the thin line executives tread between ambition and greed. He wrote Human Software to fully explore the consequences of corporate decision-making on communities and individuals.

His second novel is currently in progress.

Originally from Kent, UK, Richard now lives near Amsterdam, Netherlands.
